Solar solutions referrals can now be made online

THE online marketplace is such a fascination. Everything from second-hand merchandise to pets to even bulky and big ticket items can be transacted.

But who would have thought that even solar power can today be marketed online!

Following the inking of a collaborative agreement, OpenSys Technologies Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of OpenSys (M) Bhd, will now offer solar solutions referral to renewable energy player Samaiden Group Bhd via its buySolar renewable energy online platform.

Samaiden will then provide end-to-end services within the value chain of services for solar photovoltaic (PV) system and power plant projects to potential customers

buySolar is Malaysia’s first one-stop online marketplace for renewable energy with a focus on solar solutions and financing options.

The end-to-end services to be provided by Samaiden include customising, designing and developing of schematic layout, procuring of equipment and materials, constructing, installing and integrating of the solar PV systems and/or power plants process.

Upon the completion of the construction phase, Samaiden will commission and test the solar panels to ensure that the equipment functions as a complete system in accordance with the detailed engineering design and specifications.

Samaiden’s group managing director Chow Pui Hee viewed the collaboration to expand its customer base through buySolar online solar energy platform by reaching out to various potential end-users and customers in the market while at the same time promoting its business.

“It also benefits the customers as the platform provides a wider selection of solar energy EPCC providers to help them tailor their requirements to match their needs,” she pointed out.

“By blending our knowledge and expertise with the referrals provided by OpenSys Technologies, we can jointly work to accelerate the growth of the renewable energy sector to achieve the 20% renewable energy capacity mix by 2025.”

Listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia since Oct 15, Samaiden has an extensive track record of solar rooftop systems, as well as large scale solar projects. The group has recently announced its successful venture into the development of biogas and biomass power plants.

OpenSys Technologies chief operating officer Luke Sebastian noted that collaboration with reputable solar engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) player such as Samaiden would broaden the company’s reach to potential customers in the residential and commercial segments nationwide.

“We believe in providing interested parties with the luxury of choice among tried-and-tested players, and who are able to deliver solutions that can be adapted to their differing requirements and budgets,” he added. – Dec 8, 2020
