South Sudan’s crisis deepens as global funding falls short

South Sudan’s humanitarian crisis is intensifying as global funding dwindles. The UN World Food Programme has started air-dropping emergency food supplies to thousands of families stranded in Upper Nile State, an area gripped by violence since March.

The severe funding shortfall is affecting aid delivery across the country, leaving many vulnerable communities without food and essential support.
