Southern Cable secures RM99.6m contract from TNB

SOUTHERN Cable Group Bhd has clinched a substantial RM99.6 mil contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for the supply of underground cables and conductors, the company announced in a statement.

This latest contract further bolsters the total value of their ongoing supply agreement with TNB to RM854.3 mil.

In his statement, Southern Cable Group managing director Tung Eng Hai noted their commitment to supporting TNB’s development initiatives. He highlighted the crucial role of their cable and wire solutions in facilitating grid expansion, integrating renewable energy, and modernising infrastructure.

Tung also pointed out the growing demand for Southern Cable’s products across various sectors.

“We are committed to supporting TNB’s development initiatives through our cable and wire solutions that enable grid expansion, renewable energy integration, and modernisation efforts.

“The growing demand for our cables and wires, driven by increasing activity in data centres, manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure, presents significant growth opportunities. Our robust production capacity ensures a reliable supply to support various sectors.”

With orders in hand exceeding RM1 bil, Southern Cable Group anticipates strong revenue visibility going forward, solidifying its position as a key player in the industry. – July 5, 2024
