A TOTAL of 500 startups are expected to join the Alibaba Cloud Demo Day 2021 which will be conducted from Oct 23, 2021 to March 26, 2022 in cooperation with venture capital corporation Fidelity Funding to help propel local businesses to greater heights by equipping them with the latest information and know-how in digital transformation.
To be conducted by Alibaba Cloud’s local partner Handsprofit and co-organised by BIG WHEEL, the event is expected to help provide Malaysian startups with a conducive environment to grow and thrive.
“As we look to embrace the next normal, the post-pandemic era will bring about, we hope to enhance and nurture local businesses by passing on the knowledge and wisdom to thrive in the tech business ecosystem. Through this, we want to ensure that not only will they survive in this digital world, but also be equipped to skillfully master all adversities,” said Handsprofit’s Michael Chang.
The Alibaba Cloud Demo Day 2021 will be conducted across a series of events and the series will also look to nurture the next generation of fresh talent.
The event will also include the launching of the Alibaba Cloud Global Startup Accelerator, whereby Malaysian startups will have the opportunity to be selected for the Global Startup Accelerator Programme and become part of Alibaba Cloud’s global ecosystem.
The series of contests are expected to create an innovative wave in the region bringing about solutions in a large number of segments including 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things, augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), drones, smart community, smart logistics, connected vehicles, smart medical care, smart city, smart energy, and the smart grid for the startup scene here in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Fidelity Funding director Tham Lih Chung believes that working together with Handsprofit will provide a platform for innovative entrepreneurs to shine on a global scale, bringing to light their unique ideas.

Fidelity Funding will be joining other major brands such as ATM Capital, Capital Nuts and Ficus Venture to form the judging panel for the Alibaba Cloud Demo Day 2021. – Oct 16, 2021
