TRIBUTES poured in for political activist Haris Ibrahim following revelation that he is terminally ill due to advanced stage of cancer.

“So sorry to hear about your condition. Stay strong and cheerful. Praying for you and your family,” said user Chua Shih Keat.

Upset over the matter, user Danny W Majin added:

Recently, the long-time activist announced that he was suffering from Stage 4 cancer, adding his time was running out.

“12 days ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. Stage 4. How much time? More than three months, less than a year. My family and I are now in discussions with doctors on possible treatments.

“I hope you understand that I tire easily these days. Hence, for now, I don’t take calls or meet. God bless,” he posted on Facebook.

He had since called on the people to send in pictures of him and others attending various demonstration and rallies over the years.

Haris is a long-time activist and had worked closely with the-then Opposition coalition, Pakatan Rakyat.

Don’t give up

He had also spearheaded the Anything But UMNO (ABU) movement and called for the restoration of Sabah and Sarawak as equal partners of Peninsular Malaysia, in tandem with the Malaysia Agreement signed in 1963.

On that note, user Nisha Charles implored Haris to remain strong in these trying times and have faith in the Almighty.

Netizen Andy Tan remarked: “Sorry to hear this. Thank you for your years of sacrifice for the nation. Now you are facing your greatest battle. May you have the strength & energy to give it a good fight. Take care brother,”- April 16, 2022
