AMID a hectic logistic schedule which demands them to spend so much time on the roads, employees of fuel conversion company FatHopes Energy Sdn Bhd were unable to work efficiently.
Truck drivers who are tasked to collect used oil tended to make mistakes filling up physical forms which ultimately affected the quality of data collected. Moreover, the process of couriering documentation from the company’s state-level depots not only took time to arrive at the headquarters but was often incomplete.
“That was prior to our adoption of the Maxis Mobile Workforce solution which digitises the whole documentation process,” recalls FatHopes Energy CEO and founder Vinesh Sinha. “Now we are able to access complete and accurate documentation within 24 hours – a crucial factor for us to comply with stringent international standards.”
Established in 2010 with the primary focus of developing sustainable fats, oils and grease solutions for the primary purpose of advanced biofuel production, FatHopes Energy is today a robust and reliable supplier of ready-to-use biofuels as well as biofuel feedstock to the global market.
It has a fleet of 80 trucks which ply every corner of the country (including Sabah and Sarawak) and Singapore to collect used cooking oil from restaurants and fast food outlets.

A rewarding experience
Given that initial reluctance could not be ruled out during the adoption process, Sinha says FatHopes Energy approached the implementation of the Maxis Mobile Workforce solution as a tool to make both the work and personal lives of its truck drivers easier, organised and more efficient.
“Instead of spending an additional an hour to fill their day’s report (i.e. number of trips made and volume of used oil collected) upon their return to office, it will be better off for our drivers to spend the time with their family,” quips Sinha.
In the longer term, the Maxis Mobile Workforce solution augurs well for FatHopes Energy in its ASEAN-wide expansion quest with Indonesia and the Philippines soon joining Malaysia and Indonesia as part of its regional operation centres.
