WITH Barisan Nasional (BN) winning a supermajority in the Melaka state election, netizens took to Twitter to lash out at Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for misjudging voters’ sentiments.
Netizen It’s Called Malaysia took a pot shot at Anwar for his decision to embrace “political frogs” stating, ““Serve them right. PKR deserve that. Tanya Anwar nak lagi ke katak berprinsip (do you still want ‘principled frog’? Hahahahaha.”
Yesterday, both Pakatan and Perikatan Nasional got trounced in the Melaka state polls. PKR got wiped out while DAP won four seats, with Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) winning one.
As for Perikatan, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) won only two seats, while it allies PAS and Gerakan won nothing.
Since the polls were called, many quarters including DAP had urged PKR and Amanah not to entertain the Melaka quartet as it may jeopardise the coalition’s moral standing among voters.
Reform PKR first!
Despite the objection, PKR decided to allow ex-UMNO leaders Datuk Seri Idris Haron to contest under its banner while Amanah allowed Datuk Nor Azman Hassan to contest under its ticket.
Both were defeated at the polls yesterday.
On that note, user Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali reminded Pakatan that Anwar has never led the coalition into victory and the 2018 general election win was due to the Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad factor. – Nov 21, 2021.
