“Stop the charade!”: Netizens pan state-level Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia event

AGHAST over reports that the 100-day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia would continue at state level, netizens took to social media to vent out their displeasure.

User Mervyn Goh echoed Chuah sentiments, adding:

Netizen Mc Nyon retorted:

In the event held last weekend at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that his administration had achieved a 90% mark in the 100 days they took office.

However, many quarters panned the premier’s self-hype and pointed out at the event flouted COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) openly by not observing physical distancing rules, with many not wearing masks properly.

The organiser for the event was eventually slapped with a fine but the public were aghast that they were only compounded for RM1,000, while others who breached SOP were fined tens of thousands.

Yesterday, The Star reported Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Seri Mohd Zuki Ali as saying that the 100-Day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia will be continued at the state-level.

“This is to enable all levels of society to understand and appreciate the aspirations of the prime minister in restoring the economy and lives of the people affected by the pandemic,” he added.

What’s the benefit?

On that note, user Eric Ng urged the Government to abort such plans so as to not create new COVID-19 clusters across the country.

Netizen Richard Buntol, however, took a softer approach and urged the authorities to ensure attendees to comply with SOP in the upcoming events.  – Dec 14, 2021.
