A routine morning commute on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line turned frightening today after a train reportedly stopped abruptly near Abdullah Hukum, with passengers claiming several people were thrown off balance and at least one commuter required medical attention.
One passenger said her sister was travelling to work with their mother when the train suddenly stopped. She allegedly fell, lost consciousness and injured her fingers, which were bleeding.
The passenger said her sister was later taken to the red zone of a hospital and had undergone a CT scan, although there was no update on her condition at the time of writing.
Other commuters also took to social media to describe the incident.

One passenger said she saw a commuter apparently unconscious inside the train, while another claimed a man behind her appeared to have injured his arm.
A commuter said almost everyone in the carriage train appeared to fall when it braked, adding that she managed to grab an overhead handle but still twisted her arm and experienced pain.
The incident has renewed concerns among some commuters over reports of sudden braking on the Kelana Jaya Line.
In April, passengers reported similar experiences, including one commuter who claimed a train travelling from Gombak towards Kelana Jaya had braked suddenly at several locations.
A more serious incident occurred on June 4, when passengers were injured after a Kelana Jaya Line train stopped abruptly near Dang Wangi.
Rapid KL said the automatic safety system had been activated while the train was leaving the station, causing it to stop immediately as an operational safety measure.
The Kelana Jaya Line has also experienced other technical problems this year. In May, Rapid Rail said a train became immobilised because of damage to a Linear Induction Motor cover, prompting inspections across the fleet.
Meanwhile, Rapid KL has announced phased track replacement works along the Kelana Jaya Line, scheduled through September 2027, as part of efforts to maintain safety and reliability.
For Tuesday’s incident, however, the cause and extent of injuries have yet to be officially confirmed.
Until Rapid KL or Rapid Rail provides further details, claims circulating online remain passenger accounts rather than confirmed findings.—Sept 29, 2026
