Sultan Ibrahim celebrates his official birthday by getting up close and personal with the ‘rakyat’

HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim King of Malaysia is celebrating his official birthday today (June 3) with a difference – by endearing himself to the so-called royal subjects.

In so doing, Malaysia’s 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) commenced his day today by driving down to Kampung Baru for a sumptuous treat of nasi lemak – touted as a beloved meal to Malaysians of all races and stature – for breakfast.

His Majesty’s surprise drop-by at Nasi Lemak Wanjo must have brought excitement not only to fellow diners at the popular nasi lemak joint but among the entire Kampung Baru folks in the Federal capital.

Sultan Ibrahim also took the time to be friendly by accommodating numerous selfie requests by commoners as depicted by the various self-explanatory photographs that have been uploaded to his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his highest congratulations to Sultan Ibrahim in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday today (June 3).

On behalf of the unity government, Anwar prayed that the King, Queen and the entire Royal family remain blessed with good health, prosperity and sovereignty.

“May His Majesty remain steadfast in ruling fairly and equitably as the country’s head of state, and guardian of Islam as well as a symbol of unity and well-being of all races in this country,” he shared in a Facebook post.

“All the people and I will continue to obey and remain loyal to the constitutional monarchy institution. Dirgahayu Tuanku!,” Anwar added. – June 3, 2024
