Sweet treats await shoppers at Yummy Taiwan pop-up store in 1 Utama this June

SUNNYHILLS pineapple tarts, ChiaTe nougats, and Fruit Whisper dried fruits are some of the most popular Taiwan delicacies favoured by visitors as souvenirs to bring back home from Taiwan.

For a limited time this June, you will get the chance to sample for free these delicious Taiwanese snacks that have been specially flown in for the Yummy Taiwan pop-up stall in 1 Utama!

In an effort to promote Taiwanese food to a wider audience, the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) have collaborated to launch the multinational Taiwan Food Tour campaign, and a series of promotion events last year had greatly boosted the popularity of Taiwanese food in Malaysia.

Building upon the momentum of a series of promotional events last year that had greatly boosted the popularity of Taiwanese food in Malaysia, the organisers are bringing this year’s event to 1 Utama Centre Court (Ground Floor) from June 7–11, 2023.

The event, dubbed Yummy Taiwan, will feature more than 300 Taiwanese food products from 30 brands.

The featured products are divided into four categories: snacks, drinks, noodles, and instant beverages.

Products include mochi from Royal Family and Yuki & Love, popcorn from Candy Poppy, Taiwan four season tea from Royal Tea Garden, extra rich black sesame cereal from GreenMax, mini puff from Imei, beef noodle from UNI-PRESIDENT, Sachima from Jiufu, pumpkin seeds from Triko, and many more.

Customers will also get to sample the delicacies and enjoy special discounts on many of the products.

Free samples include many of the most popular trending products in Taiwan, such as the delectable baked cake from Sun Hope Veg, alkaline water from Chieh Hsiang Enterprise, mullet-roe popcorn from Shin Rong, red oolong tea from Taitung Luye, etc.

In addition to the good food and tantalising discounts, visitors will also have the chance to step into the specially-created Taiwan Pastry House, a fairytale-inspired candy house built for the event.

Customers who make a purchase of RM50 in a single receipt will get to enter the candy house and choose two free gifts within the time limit. Every additional RM50 in a single receipt will entitle the customer to select one extra gift.

Customers will also get the chance to take a set of three-cut photos at the photo booth with every purchase.

Daily fun activities include presentation by 8FM DJ Louis Loh and Hana on the weekend, as well as children costume competition guaranteed to create many happy memories for the whole family.

The five-day pop-up event is located at 1 Utama Old Wing Ground Floor Centre Court. For more information, visit the Taiwan Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur’s official Facebook page at www.facebook/kltaitra/. – June 5, 2023
