HOUSING and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming should visit Muar to see the constituency has plenty of “ong” and “good feng shui” that makes it worthy of allocations too, said Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
Commenting on Nga’s statement yesterday (April 18) about the RM5.21 mil allocation for Hulu Selangor ahead of the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election on May 11, Syed Saddiq mused about how “election bribery” was now being legitimised as “ong” and “feng shui”.
“Dear minister, how is it that there is ‘good feng shui’ only in a constituency which is facing a by-election?” the former Muda president asked in an Instagram video uploaded on Friday (April 19).
On Thursday (April 18), Nga announced the development allocation for Hulu Selangor district, of which Kuala Kubu Baharu is a principal town, and said it was not because of the by-election but because the constituency has good feng shui.
“I don’t know whether to be sad or angry because opposition MPs have been waiting for their allocations for almost two years,” Syed Saddiq said.
“But it’s all right, we’ll just go with the minister’s logic. I just hope the minister will come down to Muar. Give us your millions (of ringgit) in allocation because Muar has plenty of ‘ong’ and good feng shui too. Thank you.”
Nga, who is also the Teluk Intan MP, had earlier announced 14 projects worth RM4.82 mil which will be carried out by the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council and village community management council.
Specifically for KKB, the funds will be used to upgrade food stalls and public toilets as well as to re-surface roads. Similar works will be carried out in Bukit Beruntung, Rasa and Batang Kali. They will also be utilised for New Villages in the area.
Additionally, the minister also contributed RM10,000 to the volunteer fire brigade in KKB and RM127,050 for upgrading works of the Sri Sithi Vinayagar temple.
The Housing and Local Government Ministry likewise approved a contribution of RM250,000 to Persatuan Penganut Dewa Siaw Kong dan Dewi Lee Ma to repair its house of worship.
According to Nga, this is part of the RM50 mil in financial aid channelled by the unity government to non-Muslim houses of worship nationwide. – April 19, 2024
