Taiwan kitchen & bathroom innovator makes headway in the M’sian market

DURING the pandemic, more families are opting to stay and cook at home. This resulted in exponential growth in the kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures industry. Taiwan is leading the way in these sectors with various innovative products, precision manufacturing and extensive supply chain.

Major Taiwanese companies in these rapidly growing business segments will be participating in a virtual event organised by Taiwan Excellence called “Building Materials Online Product Launch” on Aug 25, 2021 featuring some of Taiwan’s top brands. Two of the key participants are Taiwan Sakura and Sheng Tai Brassware.

Meeting surging demand for renovations

Taiwan Sakura is the biggest manufacturer of gas water heaters, range hoods, stoves and built-in hobs in the Taiwanese market.

According to Taiwan Sakura head of international business department Danif Wang, the company applies advanced technology to extend its brand value to customers.

“We rely on powerful customer relationship management, database and market research to integrate consumer feedback and technical problems to develop products and modular kitchens that meet market demand,” Wang explained.

One of its flagship products is the Sakura RW7100/9100 chimney type cooker hood with streamlined design and smart-touch control panel. This innovative kitchen product is comprised of a smart deodorisation system with a patented 2-1 rectification plate design for easy detachment.

Additionally, there are three modes of lighting and a unique oil filter design which prevents oil accumulation in the motor, reducing the need for maintenance.

Taiwan Sakura’s emphasis on its research and development (R&D) for over 40 years has given it a strong competitive edge against its competitors. Consequently, the company has achieved an impressive 73% market penetration and is now one of the most famous consumer brands in Taiwan.

The company is very confident about its prospects in Malaysia and is planning strategic collaborations with interior design magazines and consumer electronics retailers to expand Taiwan Sakura’s presence in the Malaysian market.

“We also have comprehensive marketing materials, such as animated marketing and video launches, to elaborate Sakura’s unique features and functions on various online channels,” Wang invited Malaysian industry players to experience Taiwan Sakura’s virtual reality showroom online: https://www.sakura.com.tw/en/

Attractive functional and aesthetic features

Another exciting Taiwanese name in the bathroom fixtures segment is Sheng Tai Brassware, offering premium brands and products for faucets, showers and other bathroom accessories. One of its hugely popular and award-winning products is the water drinking faucet under its brand “JUSTIME”.

This unique product has various attractive functional and aesthetic features including lead-free brass with chrome plating for resistance to acid, heat and erosion. Its unique inner structure also enables ease of switching between hot or cold water.

According to JUSTIME chairman and marketing director Chinger Pan, the brand’s products symbolise elegant and functional designs, innovative technology and superior quality.

“The company specialises in functional and aesthetic product designs. Our heritage in ancient Chinese architecture and design lives on in every single JUSTIME product that we create,” Pan asserted.

One of Sheng Tai Brassware’s flagship products is its Lucky 7 series of faucet suitable for use in private homes as well as public spaces such as parks, government agencies, washrooms and hotels.

It resembles a growing stalk and has a beautiful curved design as a symbol of the lucky number seven. Together with Sheng Tai Brassware’s 6777-S7-80MA ceiling-mounted sensor basin faucet, you can easily wash your hands without touching the faucet which is more secure and hygienic to prevent the spread of any virus.

Since its entry into the Malaysian market three years ago, the JUSTIME brand has grown in leaps and bounds. During the pandemic, it has transitioned into an online business model via online shop, website and social media to strengthen its brand loyalty.

Post-pandemic, the company is planning strategic brand collaborations and cross-industry promotions with developers and interior designers (for example, local property developer EcoWorld).
