Teen saying ‘Anwar, ambil gambar kejap,’ gets PM smiling

A GROUP of teenage boys caught up with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at a mosque on his trip to Terengganu yesterday (Jan 13) and one of the boys approached Pakatan Harapan (PH) leader to ask for a selfie.

It is the way he asked Anwar for the selfie that has captured hearts on social media networks. From TikTok, Facebook to Twitter, people have the same reaction to the boy’s ‘Anwar, ambil gambar kejap’ .

While some people are asking whether the kid should not have called the Prime Minister by name, the latter seems entertained by the brave young man who was wearing a ‘kopiah’ or Muslim prayer hat.

In the video that is still going viral, Anwar turned to reporters to explain what the boy said before he took the selfie with the PM.

Reporters were asking Anwar what the boy said to him before he took the selfie. Anwar said the boy approached him and said, “Anwar, ambil gambar kejap,” to the laughter of the media reps.

According to user malek@maya, it’s rare for kids to ask Prime Minister for selfies but Anwar seems to have a different aura. “The aura of PMX is different”.

Meanwhile, user Razaksani1573 said:

“Are there other PMs to whom kids can talk like this? This shows Anwar in the hearts of the people at all levels.” — Jan 14, 2023
