DEMOCRATIC countries around the world have elections when the term of their government ends but nothing is as closely watched as the American Presidential election results, which have repercussions around the world in terms foreign policy and trade.
As it is, the US presidential election process will be reaching its climax soon, and it would be interesting to see similarities and division between candidates of both Democratic and Republican parties.
Similarities in foreign policy
While the chosen candidate will formulate the foreign policy, the truth about the United States is it has a deep state that controls the foreign policies of the White House irrespective of which candidate runs the White House.
The cabal of this deep state has its protagonist in both Democrat and Republican parties and has allies around the world.
This deep state, which is much about the empire, control and war machine residing in the Pentagon, has created much destruction in the world for decades through its support of client and proxy states, who are involved in war.
The current war raging in the Middle East and Ukraine is the consequence of decades-old imperial policies pursued by these two imperial political parties.
This is the reason why influential war-mongers such as Dick Cheney from the Republican party, has voiced his support for Kamala Harris, knowing that Trump would possibly reduce the financial obligation or US interference in other countries.
Election of Donald Trump
The election of Donald Trump could possibly create global chaos in the business supply chain if he follows through with its tariff hikes of goods from other countries, especially China.
His nationalistic slogan and action of America first, would force countries to recalibrate their respective trade policies and look for ways and means to reduce the dependency on the US market and dollar.
His foreign policy would be more transactional with countries around the globe while supporting Israel unconditionally to the detriment of Palestinians to satisfy the neo- conservative segment in his party.
He will not promote war but would ensure American predominance by strengthening and increasing military spending and punishing perceived adversaries like Iran who are resisting American presence in the Middle East.
In the US domestic front agenda, climate policies would be affected with the revival of coal plants and the violation of global climate obligations.
Migrants who entered the country illegally would face deportation, and there is a possibility that some of them who have fled persecution in their own countries could be unjustly treated.
Election of Kamala Haris
If Harris is elected nothing much would change in the foreign front since she summits to power of empire, which is clearly seen in the destruction of Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
Domestically her reign would empower the abortionists in the country and challenge the sacred nature of marriage between man and women, families, with relativistic gender ideologies.
Gender ideologies would be earnestly promoted to third world countries in the name of human rights besides tying it up with aid.
Discerning Americans who value foundational values of family harmony, peace and justice will find it difficult to vote for either candidate.
In the American cultural view which is deeply tied to individualism and relativism, truths are seen from a partisan perspective, while failing to acknowledge the truth from the other side. This results in half truths.
Both these candidates represent half-truths that do not correspond to the sacred dignity of human beings that revolve around the wholeness of harmony, goodness, truth and justice. – Nov 5, 2024
