The ‘unknown’ COVID-19 deaths in rural India

The second COVID-19 wave ravaged India as hospitals and then crematoriums ran out of space.

While cities were first hit, the second wave of coronavirus soon reached rural parts of the country, where hundreds died due to poor or no access to good healthcare.

Most of them were not even able to get a COVID-19 test. Experts now believe the number of deaths in rural India is much higher than has been recorded in official statistics.
