“This is what dignity should look like”: Amanah leader delivers “ultimatum” to Muda’s Amira Aisya

JOHOR Pakatan Harapan (PH) deputy chairman Aminolhuda Hassan has given Muda’s Amira Aisya Abd Aziz an ultimatum, saying she should either join Amanah or resign from her position as Puteri Wangsa assemblywoman and therefore, vacating the state seat.

According to Aminolhuda, the move was necessary as the seat belonged to PH which was previously given to Amanah.

He also said Amira Aisya, who is Muda’s sole representative in the Johor state legislative assembly, should remember that the Puteri Wangsa state seat she was occupying came as a result of the courtesy Amanah had extended to Muda in last year’s Johor state election.

“Amira Aisya has to remember that the seat we (Amanah) offered is due to the courtesy we extended to Muda during the Johor state polls,” the Sri Gading MP was reported as saying by Berita Harian today (Sept 12).

“So, she has two options, either leave Muda and join Amanah or return the Puteri Wangsa state seat to Amanah and resign. That is how dignity should look like.

“Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman withdrawing his support for Pakatan Harapan (PH) make it look as if he is an ingrate.”

On Sunday (Sept 10), Syed Saddiq announced that Muda has dropped out of the unity government after publicly expressing dissatisfaction with the abrupt halt of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s corruption trial.

The Muar MP stated that that the issue has been notified to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker, Tan Sri Johari Abdul, via a letter handed on Sunday (Sept 10).

Amira Aisya had also announced that she is no longer sitting in the PH bloc in the Johor State Assembly.

Meanwhile, Aminolhuda who is also Parit Yaani assemblyman, said PH namely Amanah and DAP had agreed to give the six state assembly seats belonging to the two parties to MUDA under Johor state elections electoral pact namely Tenang, Bukit Kepong, Parit Raja, Machap, Puteri Wangsa and Bukit Permai.

“MUDA leaders need to learn history, don’t be lazy and just make populist moves. Remember how they became victorious in Puteri Wangsa,” the Johor Amanah chairman added.

“PH gave them (Muda) a path based on the election pact, but now they betrayed us after withdrawing support for the unity government.” – Sept 12, 2023
