Thousands of Years Media leads the digital entertainment revolution

MALAYSIA is no short of talent where the film industry is considered. Sadly, however, this fact is eclipsed by the many other countries out there that have been entrenched in the industry for so long.

Therefore it is always a breath of fresh air when a local media is created to cultivate the many emerging talents on Malaysian shores.

That said, special attention is given to Thousands of Years Media (ToYm), an emerging media on the digital realm which is turning heads with its unique DNA.

Most notable are its trending micro series, which are short, fast and exciting videos that fit well into the lifestyle of contemporary consumers.

“We are not just here to entertain, but to send a positive, meaningful message to people through our videos,” said Jment Lim, the founder of ToYm.

Stories that inspire

According to Lim, their recent micro-series In Character garnered very positive responses from viewers. This has given them the confidence to follow up with more micro-series projects.

“In Character is about women using their inner strength to overcome challenges, turning a loss into a victory,” he said, adding that all the cast were local.

ToYm will gradually diversify to the English and Malay market with two Malay micro-series already planned for the pipeline this year out of the five.

Lim said the micro-series allow ToYm to tell impactful stories while engaging viewers across multiple digital platforms.

For the moment, ToYm has a strong presence on social media, but an app is currently being developed for it.

Lim further highlighted the unique selling point of ToYm which allows it to stand out from the other industry players, being composed of four pillars.

“Unlike traditional entertainment companies, ToYm integrates multiple industries under one roof. This unique approach blends storytelling, sustainable fashion, and educational empowerment to create holistic experiences that inspire and uplift individuals,” he said.

Perhaps the recent ‘Old Clothes for New Clothes’ campaign best highlight ToYm’s spirit of diversification.

“This initiative promotes sustainable fashion by allowing people to exchange their gently used clothes for brand-new outfits at no cost,” said Lim.

ToYm’s debut collection features over 50 new designs across four categories, ribbon and lace, jeans, classic, and blush pink suits.

Each piece is designed to celebrate individuality while maintaining elegance and sustainability.

Beyond fashion, it is also about creating awareness of conscious consumerism and reducing textile waste. The collected items were donated to the Tzu Chi Recycling Center, ensuring they benefit those in need.

Additionally, for every outfit exchanged, ToYm Wardrobe donated RM10 to charitable causes.

Nurturing the mind

Also, Lim believes that intellectual growth goes hand-in-hand with creativity. By integrating educational initiatives like the ‘Super Memory’ seminar led by

World Mind Development Sdn Bhd founder Teo Kim Foo, ToYmis able to empower individuals with the tools to enhance their cognitive abilities, making learning a lifelong pursuit.

Towards this direction, ToYm is moving forward to introduce workshops, online courses, and mentorship programs that cater to various age groups and professional fields, ensuring accessibility and continuous learning for all.

Lim welcomes all collaborations, whether it is through participation in their talent competitions, educational workshops, or by supporting their sustainable fashion campaigns.

ToYm is also looking to enter the Main market in 2029, with a purpose to raise more capital as well as to enhance its brand in the industry.
