Three linked to GISBH charged with assault and human trafficking

THREE individuals linked to GISB Holdings were charged in the Kota Tinggi Sessions Court with human trafficking and sexual offenses.

Mahmad Hamal Tukiman, 57, and Rabiahtul Adawiyah Md Shash, 31, faced four counts of trafficking for forced labor involving three women and one man, aged between 30 and 57.

The alleged crimes took place between August and October 2023 at Ikhwan Resort, Johor. Both denied the charges.

In a related case, resort employee Muhammad Ansarullah Tukino, 20, pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual misconduct against a 16-year-old boy.

He allegedly committed the offenses in June 2023 at the same location.

The court granted bail of RM40,000 for Mahmad and Rabiahtul, with strict conditions. Muhammad’s bail was set at RM10,000. The case will be heard again on November 27.

GISB Holdings’ CEO, Nasiruddin Ali, had acknowledged that there have been previous cases of sodomy within the organisation, which were handled internally due to their legal implications.

He did not provide specific details or identify those involved.

This statement follows the recent police raid on 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan, linked to GISBH, where 402 children were rescued.

Last month, investigations revealed that at least 13 children had been sodomised or taught to assault others.

Authorities arrested 171 individuals, including an ustaz and a warden, and are monitoring 39 more GISBH welfare homes nationwide. – Oct 13, 2024
