TM offers unlimited high-speed data SIM for tourists

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has partnered with Tourism Malaysia to offer special unifi mobile plans for international tourists visiting the country during the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign.

Under the collaboration, tourists could register for TM’s unifi Travel Pass, a tourist SIM card, and enjoy unlimited high-speed data, WiFi connectivity and favourite TV shows.

“Tourists can choose either the Seven Days Pass for RM30 or the 15 Days Pass for RM60, both offering high-speed 4G/3G data.

“unifi Travel Pass also comes with preloaded airtime credit for the tourists to make outgoing calls at 20 sen per minute and send SMS at 10 sen per SMS,” TM and Tourism Malaysia said in a joint statement.

The statement was issued in conjunction with the TM-Tourism Malaysia agreement signing ceremony witnessed by Tourism Malaysia secretary-general Datuk Dr Noor Zari Hamat and TM chairman Rosli Man here today.

Commenting on the partnership, Rosli said TM, via its innovative and comprehensive products and solutions, would continue to serve a more digital society and lifestyle, digital businesses and industry verticals, as well as digital government.

“This collaboration not only reflects our support for Malaysia’s tourism industry but is also in line with our role towards realising Malaysia’s aspiration of becoming a Digital Nation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Noor Zari said he hoped the collaboration would play a key role in advancing Malaysia’s tourism ambition as a unique and culturally diverse tourist destination for travellers worldwide.

With the tagline “Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020,” the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign aims to achieve 30 million tourists arrivals and RM100 bil tourist receipts this year. – Jan 8, 2020 Bernama
