TNG Digital partners with Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP as appointed zakat agent

TNG Digital Sdn Bhd has been appointed by the Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP) as the zakat agent as part of its commitment to easing the process of fulfilling religious obligations for Muslims.

To accommodate their users in other states, TNG Digital also integrated two additional zakat institutions, namely Zakat Pulau Pinang and Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah, into its TNG e-wallet.

This expansion arrives just in time for Ramadan 2024, offering a convenient avenue for Muslims across various regions including Penang, Sabah, Selangor, Pahang, Wilayah Persekutuan, Negri Sembilan, and Kedah to fulfil their zakat duties effortlessly.

Starting March 2024, Muslim users with Android phones can seamlessly access and pay their zakat, including zakat fitrah (personal tithe), through the TNG e-wallet.

“As the operator of Malaysia’s preferred e-wallet, TNG Digital takes great pride in aiding our users to fulfil their religious obligations, nurturing a spirit of generosity and compassion in our society,” said TNG Digital chief operations officer Mohd Herman Sarbini.

“This update not only broadens the zakat options accessible to our users but also reaffirms our dedication to providing seamless and convenient financial solutions, including zakat fulfilment.

“When using TNG e-wallet for zakat payments, our users also have the opportunity to earn valuable GOrewards points, further enhancing the value of their contributions.”

Users can now enjoy a fully digital method of paying their zakat that is convenient, safe, and seamless through the TNG e-wallet with just a few simple steps:

Available since 2023, other zakat institutions accessible through the TNG e-wallet include:

  • Lembaga Zakat Selangor
  • Pusat Kutipan Zakat Pahang
  • Majlis Agama Islam Negri Sembilan
  • Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah
