MOTORISTS using the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) will have to start paying toll charges from 12.01am on Thursday (Dec 1).
Toll charges will begin from RM2.30 for cars, excluding taxis, concessionaire Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) said in a statement today (Nov 30).
Additionally, lorries will be charged RM4.60, trailers (RM6.90), Class 4 cars (RM1.20), and buses (RM2.30).
According to the statement, tolls will be charged at three DASH toll plazas namely Denai Alam toll plaza, RRIM toll plaza (Kawasan Damansara), and Kota Damansara toll plaza.
DASH said that the toll charges will be carried out entirely electronically using Touch ‘N Go cards, SmartTAGs, and RFID.
Highway users are advised to ensure their Touch ‘N Go and e-wallet balances are sufficient before entering the DASH highway.
“The DASH highway operations division will constantly monitor the toll collection system at all three toll plazas,” DASH said.
“Staff will also be stationed at the toll plazas in both directions especially during peak hours to help motorists who have problems.”
Previously the government announced that the highway would be free to users from Oct 14 until Nov 30.
The 20.1km highway, which costs RM4.2 bil, is expected to reduce travel time from Puncak Perdana in Shah Alam to Penchala, Kuala Lumpur, from 90 minutes to 30 minutes.
