Top Glove responses to points raised in FocusM article

TOP Glove Corp Bhd has requested that FocusM publish its response to our article entitled Top Glove’s Run-ins with US Regulator Raises Questions About Company’s Claims that appeared on May 9.

Below is Top Glove’s response:

“Top Glove wishes to reiterate that our ongoing efforts to resolve the 11 International Labour Organization (ILO) indicators of forced labour are genuine, and tangible steps have been taken towards improving the welfare of our workforce.

The chart below shows the progress the company has made from August 2020 when the first investigation was completed by an independent international UK-based consultant Impactt Ltd (Impactt) to April 2021 when Impactt verified the company had resolved the 11 ILO indicators of forced labour.

These independent audit findings are now being verified by the US Customs Border Protection (CBP).

In the spirit of transparency, the release of the chart above was to provide an update on the progress of our efforts to resolve the 11 ILO indicators in response to inquiries from our stakeholders.

Top Glove is working closely with the US CBP towards the expeditious resolution and revocation/modification of the Withhold Release Order (WRO). Top Glove is committed to ensuring our operations remain free of forced labour.
