Tourism Selangor gearing up M’sia for industry recovery with TSGC 2021

IN ensuring a successful re-entry of the tourism industry starting next year, Tourism Selangor will be organising the Tourism Selangor Global Convention 2021 (TSGC 2021) on Dec 10-11 at the New World Petaling Jaya Hotel.

According to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Malaysia is already on its path towards achieving nationwide herd immunity, since standard operating procedures (SOPs) are now easing up and most Malaysians have already received their double dose of vaccinations.

“With international tourism expected to rebound in 2022, vital investors will be looking forward to the prospect of reopening hotels, landmarks and other hotspots,” he pointed out.

The TSGC 2021 is expected to become a platform for business leaders and influential individuals to share their thoughts on the future of tourism for the country and beyond.

Among those who will be speaking at the event include Malaysian international race driver Jazeman Jaafar, Malaysian celebrity chef Chef Zam, actor and Tourism Selangor’s Pusing Selangor Dulu campaign ambassador Che’ Puan Juliana Evans.

Some of the topics that will be touched on include ‘Digital Tourism 4.0 and E-commerce’, ‘Innovation and Diversity in Tourism Business Survival During the Pandemic’, ‘Influencers in Tourism Destination’, ‘Sports Tourism’ and ‘Creative Tourism and the Film Industry’.

The ‘Pusing Selangor Dulu Travel Fair’ will precede TSGC 2021 and take place from 10am to 10pm at the Concourse Square of Paradigm Mall from the Dec 3-5, 2021, with walk-ins open to the fully-vaccinated.

Following the convention, various pocket events will be held including the Malaysia Tourism  Council Gold Awards 2021 on Dec 9, 2021, which Tourism Selangor proudly becomes its Strategic Partner.

Meanwhile, the application for Selangor’s Tourism Aid Grants, which is a part of Selangor’s Tourism Recovery Plan is now open to the members of the public until Dec 31, 2021.

With an allocation of RM1 mil under the Kita Selangor 2.0 Package, this initiative aims to recover and promote Selangor’s tourism industry, in overcoming the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. – Nov 27, 2021
