Tun M is confident PN winning in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu

PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) will win in the three states under the PAS in the state elections today, said former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who is backing the coalition. He claimed that the coalition still has a chance to win in Selangor and Negri Sembilan.“I am confident that PN can win again in Kedah, but the problem is the ban on speaking 3R, this is not by law. There is no need to rush to draft an act to deal with 3R,” he insisted before adding that there is no law that states you can’t talk about 3R, if you can’t it should be made part of the law.“People are suddenly told that they cannot talk about their own problems, this is not fair. After that there is a threat that if they speak, they will cancel their nomination, this is a threat, this is not a democratic way,” he told the media after casting his vote at the Anak Bukit state legislative assembly seat at Titi Gajah National School, Kepala Batas, Kedah.Dr Mahathir also noted that if Pakatan Harapan (PH) loses many seats in the six states holding the state polls, it can be considered the people’s rejection of the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.“I think there is also a chance in Kelantan and Terengganu for the PN, but in Selangor and Negri Sembilan there is still a chance but Penang is difficult because there are not many areas where the PN can win.“I don’t know if the central government can be changed but it sends a message to the central government which is the people’s stance, so let’s see if PH loses. PH should be concerned about the rejection of this PH government by the people.“If there is rejection at the state level, there is a possibility that it will happen at the central level. But we must first remember that UMNO won in Melaka and Johor but lost badly in the whole country, so we cannot take that as an accurate sign,” he further added. – Aug 12, 2023
