Emphasising the strategic importance of Malaysia in ASELSAN’s global expansion plans, Akyol added:

“Malaysia serves as a strategic hub for our growth plans in the Asia-Pacific. With over two decades of presence in the Malaysian market and the establishment of ASELSAN Malaysian Sdn Bhd in 2017, we believe we are very well-positioned to capitalise on emerging opportunities and deepen our engagement in the region.”

The long-standing cooperation between Malaysia and Türkiye in the defence industry provides a solid foundation for ASELSAN’s further push into the region. Both countries have expressed keen interest in further developing cooperation to leverage their joint expertise in defence technologies.

This collaborative approach which extends beyond mere purchase agreements to investments, manufacturing and technology transfer aligns with ASELSAN’s vision of building lasting partnerships and contributing to Malaysia’s defence modernisation efforts.
