UiTM coach reportedly rode cadet like a horse before death

RECENTLY, a young UiTM Reserve officer training unit cadet died after being allegedly abused by his coach.

The man was reported riding him like a horse while making horse-like movements, ordering him to jump like a kangaroo as well as stepping on his chest.

The entire incident was also said to have been recorded by the coach.

In a post on X by Malaysiakini, Muhammad Zaidi Abdul Rahman, the victim’s father, claimed that his son was left under the sun for at least 30 minutes after he fainted, with no one assisting him, including the coach, until a friend of his son intervened.

However, by then, it was too late as his son was already unconscious.

Netizens were shocked and angered by the incident, with some calling for the entire education system to be revamped.

On a separate note, one netizen sarcastically said that this is a problem involving DAP and the Chinese schools.

The comment is in reference to the current culture where any or every problem is attributed to the Chinese race.

Zaidi further alleged that instead of calling an ambulance, the coach drove his son to the hospital in his car.

Zaidi added that the coach took his son to Hospital Shah Alam, rather than the UiTM Medical Centre, which was closer.

The family also claimed they were only notified of the cadet’s condition when the hospital contacted Zaidi to obtain permission to administer breathing aid.

Apparently, Zaidi only learned the full details of the incident from his son’s friend after his son had been buried in Banting, Selangor.

Zaidi also alleged that the university was not informed about the incident because his son was instructed to attend class or face being marked absent.

When Zaidi confronted the coach, the coach admitted he had not reported the incident to the university. Zaidi claimed that the university was only made aware of the situation after the coach was reprimanded. —Nov 27, 2024
