“Ungrateful” Rosol has the cheek to advise Umno, Najib lashes out

FORMER Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today chided Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) supreme council member Datuk Rosol Wahid for admonishing the nationalist party, reminding the latter that he won his MP seat under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket.

“He won the seat under the Umno-BN ticket in the 14th General Election. He then took his seat to Bersatu after defecting.

“As a reward, he became a deputy minister under the Perikatan Nasional Government. Now, he is telling Umno not to meddle with Bersatu’s seats. Would he later persuade us to work with party during the 15th General Election?” asked a livid Najib in a Facebook post.

Last week, Malay daily Utusan Malaysia reported Rosol as saying that Bersatu will help Umno win the next polls, provided the party does not place its candidates on seats contested by Bersatu.

“With that, we can avoid three-cornered fights and won’t divide Malays votes. It will result in victory for Muafakat Nasional and Perikatan,” the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs was reported saying.

Rosol, who is also Hulu Terengganu MP, defected to Bersatu in 2018, which was then helmed by chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Recently, Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that the party would only support Perikatan until the 15th General Election, following displeasure of its grassroots and several key leaders on how the party was treated by Bersatu.

Najib, who is also Pekan MP, ended his statement by posting a note from one of his Facebook followers.

“On top of stealing our seats, the person wants the real owner to campaign for the former in order to win the seat again. I guess the person has lost his mind.
