AMANAH president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu who goes by the moniker Mat Sabu is confident that the unity government will continue to rule the country after the 16th General Election (GE16) because of the support it will get from the states that it is currently running.“I am confident that we can win again to continue ruling after GE16 because we have vote banks in Sarawak, Sabah, Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Federal Territories and Penang.“In these states, if we look at the political development and the atmosphere, God willing, there will be enough of a majority to form a government,” he said at the inauguration of the 2023 Amanah Youth Convention in Bangsar today.For that matter, he stated that the government will also get the support of the civil servants if the government remains stable until the next GE support of the civil servants was due to campaigns by the opposition bloc that said there would be a change of regime after the August state elections.“How could they not believe? The one who said the government would topple after the state elections claimed he had seen Prophet Muhammad in his dream. Yes, those who are from Amanah, DAP or UMNO might not believe it.“But for some of the civil servants, the said PAS leader is an important religious figure and their minds were influenced by his statements.”However, he added that the civil servants’ vote pattern had altered slightly after they saw no changes in administration at both the state and federal levels, with more civil servants voting for Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) in Pulai and Simpang Jeram.He also pointed out that Amanah will continue to campaign to convince the voters that the PH-BN government is not a threat to the Malay-Muslim communities. – Dec 16, 2023
