COST of living is a topic that every average Malaysian is interested in with the prevailing negative sentiment concerning the nation’s economic condition.
But how are students fairing in such uncertain times? Recently, a video went viral where several university students were interviewed about the amount of money they spend on a monthly basis.

Some brought up a reasonable amount of RM210, RM400 to RM600, while others went to a whopping RM1,000 to RM4,000.
Top place was taken by a petite Malay girl who spent RM4,000 per month.
According to her, the lengthy bill was composed of frequent visits to aesthetic cafes, Grab fees, facial treatment and others.
Interestingly, second place was also won by a girl with a monthly spending of RM1,000.
The video has since prompted people to reminisce about their university years as well as the hardship they endured there.
In the comment section, Netizen KleekOutdoor, wondered how the girl who spent RM4,000 a month could survive when she starts work with a salary of RM2,500.
“RM4,000 per month? Really? Wow this sister is rich. Later she can put her expected salary at RM8,000,” said Master Mandarin Today.
Another netizen said there was nothing wrong if the individual comes from a rich family.
“Only it becomes a problem when the family is in the village where they need to count their food money to see if they could reach the end of the month yet you follow the rich people’s behaviour upon entering university,” she said.
