IT is truly distasteful of the opposition faction to be so obsessed with politics to the extent of rallying the Malays to boycott the medical practice of Selangor PKR election director Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan in Rawang.
This comes in the wake of the Hulu Selangor parliamentary constituency coordinator becoming the first recipient of Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s letter of demand (LODs) for having allegedly distorted the remarks he made last Friday (July 24) at a ceramah in Jempol, Negri Sembilan.
In a Facebook post, the PAS election director said his legal team is in the process of serving LODs to those found to have twisted, exaggerated or taken his “Chinese have China. Indians have India. The Malays only have Tanah Melayu” remarks out of context.
As hardcore PAS supporters greeted Sanusi’s legal action as evident by the 56K likes, 6.2K comments and 3.2K shares on his FB post, some have trained their guns on Dr Sathia who has since admitted that he erroneously interpreted the former’s statement as “go back” to China and India.
However, the PKR Hulu Selangor division head still stood by his police report against Sanusi who is also the Perikatan Nasional (PN) election director on grounds that the report was not based solely on a particular phrase.
“I never claimed that the word ‘balik‘ was an exact excerpt from Sanusi’s speech. Instead, the implied meaning of the speech could be understood by listeners who followed the entire address,” he had clarified in a statement.
But Dr Sathia’s justification has no effect on Sanusi’s so-called big fanbase who rallied for a boycott of his Poliklinik Kenanga just because he has ‘attacked’ their idol.
Many also chastised their brethren who seek treatment from the good doctor’s “racist clinic” as “fools” and “traitors” among some of the despisable labels.
Others mocked Dr Sathia “not to leave his clinic as the LOD (from Sanusi) is out” or be prepared to sell his clinic to offset the legal suit.
On the other extreme, the rightist fraternity and their opposition-slant peers have apparently been infuriated by the cops gearing up to summon Sanusi for questioning over his deemed controversial statement.
According to Negri Sembilan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, several witnesses had already been called in to have their statements recorded.
The first, lodged by a 40-year-old man in Jempol last Friday (July24), is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for making statements conducive to public mischief.
The second, lodged by a 45-year-old man at the Senawang police station on Sunday (July 26), is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for the improper use of network facilities or network services.
However, DCP Alzafny declined to confirm the total number of police reports lodged against Sanusi, 51, who is also the Jeneri state assemblyman.
As can be seen from this Sinar Harian FB post, tempers flare primarily because “only two police reports” are seemingly adequate for the cops to swiftly act against Sanusi as compared to the deemed snail-pace reaction when 140 reports were lodged nationwide against DAP’s disciplinary committee head Tony Pua. – July 29, 2026
