US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued detention orders for glove shipments into the US by subsidiaries of Top Glove Corp Bhd, the world’s largest medical glove maker.
Usually such orders are issued with an intention to halt the importation of goods from companies suspected of using forced labour.
According to the CBP website, Top Glove Sdn Bhd and TG Medical Sdn Bhd were placed on its detention orders list on Wednesday but there was no statement explaining the action.
Top Glove shares trended 2.57% lower at RM21.24 at the midday break. – July 16, 2020
