Vietnam July trade surplus widens to US$2.8 bil

HANOI: Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of US$2.8 bil  (RM15.4 bil) in July, widening from a surplus of US$1.85 bil in June, government customs data released on Wednesday showed.

Exports in July rose 10.2% from June to US$24.87 bil while imports were up 6.7% to US$22.10 bil, the Customs Department said in a statement.

For the first seven months of this year, Vietnam’s exports rose 1.5% from a year earlier to US$147.61 bil, while imports fell 3.0% to US$139.21 bil, resulting in a trade surplus of US$8.4 bil. – Aug 12, 2020, Reuters
