Last Friday, Air Selangor closed down the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant at 5.15pm after it detected odour pollution there and resumed operations yesterday afternoon.

It was the second time in a week that the plant was shut down. Last Tuesday, Air Selangor shut down the plant due to odour pollution as well, affecting the same 463 areas.

On that note, Elina said that water supply is expected to be resume as usual tomorrow, by 6am.

She also advised consumers to allow their taps to run for a while until the water is clear enough to be used for consumption.

“And please use water prudently to ensure the recovery process in other affected areas run smoothly as scheduled,” Elina concluded. – Sept 5, 2021.
