Weapons and ammunition found at Tan Sri’s house besides gold bars

WHILE the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) Investigation Division was proceeding with the seizure of luxury items from a Tan Sri’s house, investigators also discovered a secret fortified room used to store firearms and ammunition.

However, the weapons were not confiscated as they were registered under a security company owned by the individual.

Investigators, accompanied by the MACC Tactical Team (ACTS), are understood to have conducted a search at the Tan Sri’s residence starting at 9am on Thursday, which lasted until 1.30am today.

Several nearby residential units linked to the main property were also inspected during the operation.

While no official statement has been released, it is believed that MACC seized multiple luxury items during the raid.

On June 2, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) disclosed that at least RM20 mil in sukuk funds, originally earmarked for a highway project in the Klang Valley, had been misused for gambling activities.

Among the items seized from several homes belonging to the highway concessionaire were hundreds of bottles of premium liquor, casino equipment, 84 luxury handbags worth approximately RM3 mil, 11 branded watches worth about RM1 mil, gold bars, coins, and figurines worth around RM3 mil and diamonds and jewellery worth roughly RM4 mil.

The commission is continuing to trace both local and overseas assets, which will be frozen or seized to support the probe.

According to the New Straits Times, the MACC has so far frozen bank accounts and seized assets amounting to RM85.6 mil in connection with the case. —June 14, 2025
