WEPACK ASEAN 2024, one of the most professional exhibitions for packaging container manufacturing and applications in Southeast Asia, has returned to Malaysia for its second edition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from Nov 14-16.
Organised by Reed Exhibitions (RX) in collaboration with the Malaysian Corrugated Carton Manufacturers’ Association (MACCMA), the event welcomed over 5,000 delegates from around the globe to explore and learn about the latest industry technologies, sustainable solutions and transformative growth opportunities.
With an emphasis on supporting the industry’s move toward digitisation, automation and eco-friendly packaging, the three-day WEPACK ASEAN 2024 has offered an unparalleled platform for stakeholders across the supply chain – from raw paper materials and packaging processing equipment to sustainable finished packaging products.
Featuring over 120 exhibitors and new production demonstrations, the event which ended today (Nov 16) underscores Southeast Asia’s rising influence in the global packaging and printing market.
“The Southeast Asian packaging market is projected for robust growth with regional GDP (gross domestic product) expected to expand by 4.7% in 2025-2026,” commented organiser RX Greater China chief operating officer (COO) Josephine Lee.
“As the industry adapts to shifting consumer demands, WEPACK ASEAN 2024 addresses pressing challenges by highlighting innovations in smart packaging equipment, digital printing technology and eco-friendly software application which are essential for companies aiming to gain a competitive edge and build resilience in an evolving marketplace.”
In essence, the event has attracted top suppliers from around the world to showcase cutting-edge processes and sustainable technologies while hands-on demonstrations have provided attendees with valuable insights into the latest advancements in the industry.
Through forums, exhibitions and site visits, participants were able to explore practical applications of emerging trends from eco-friendly packaging to digital transformation strategies that enhance operational efficiency.
WEPACK ASEAN 2024 also marks a special milestone as MACCMA celebrated its 33rd anniversary on the opening day of the event.
“Our partnership with Reed Exhibitions continues to elevate industry standards by enabling the corrugated carton sector to meet the dynamic demands of Southeast Asia’s expanding market,” added MACCMA chairman Henry Low. – Nov 16, 2024
