What to expect on Bursa Malaysia this Tuesday

BELOW are excerpts of viewpoints from two selected research houses on what investors can expect in the day ahead:

Berjaya Research

The FBM KLCI staged a modest pullback after lingering mostly in the negative territory throughout the trading session yesterday.

Trading activity moderated with total market volume easing to 3.50 billion shares from 3.56 billion shares in the previous session.

Market breadth turned positive with 707 advancers overpowering 447 advancers, suggesting improved broad-based buying interest.

Going forward, we expect the FBM KLCI to remain in an extended consolidation phase over the near term as investors await fresh domestic economic cues and reassess market valuations following the recent gains.

Focus will turn to Malaysia’s upcoming industrial production and unemployment rate data later today which should provide further indications on the strength of domestic economic activity and labour-market conditions.

Meanwhile, selective rotational buying could continue to provide support to the index although overall market sentiment is likely to remain cautious.

Technically, the key index has bounced off EMA9 to inch higher as the key index is poised for an extended consolidation.

The immediate resistances remain envisaged at 1,756 points, followed by 1,770 points. Meanwhile, near-term supports are pegged at 1,720 points and 1,711 points respectively.

Malacca Securities Research

The FBM KLCI is expected to trade on a firmer footing by attempting a rebound supported by structural catalysts and steady contract flows.

Buying interest may reignite in technology heavyweights such as Inari Amertron Bhd and Frontken Corp Bhd as sustained global AI (artificial intelligence) capital expenditure continues to underpin demand for backend semiconductor services and precision cleaning.

Stock-specific momentum may focus on MN Holdings Bhd ahead of its Main Market transfer following recent Securities Commission approval and a fresh RM122.3 mil Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) underground cable contract win.

Elsewhere, ITMAX System Bhd remains in focus after securing a RM134.3 mil Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) contract for the Kota Kinabalu Smart City project, thus further expanding its digital infrastructure footprint.

Despite ended flat, the FBM KLCI’s technical momentum remains encouraging as the MACD histogram continues to stay above the zero line while the RSI holds firm above 50.

Key resistance lies within 1,750-1,765 while support is anchored at 1,705-1,720. – Aug 11, 2026
