Why the fuss over short skirts when Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bahru top po*n site stats

BESIDES food, one thing that Malaysians seem addicted to is po*n.

Yes, you heard that right, Malaysians absolutely love their smut. What is even more surprising is that the top two places where porn addicts are apparently concentrated in high numbers are in PAS-ruled Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bahru!

Social commenter Khalid in Southeast Asia (@Khalid) gleefully cited on X that “the two states with the strictest Islamic laws in Malaysia are po*n champions of Asia!” in reaction to social activist and lawyer Siti Kasim inviting viewers to her YouTube video on “Public Caning in Terengganu”.

To highlight that these findings are objective and is noy some PAS-bashing propaganda, the poster noted that the searches for “po*n” on Google Trends indicate that Terengganu (ranked second), Kelantan (ranked third) and Kedah (ranked fifth) are in the list of top five states with most smut seekers (Pahang ranks first with Kuala Lumper ranking fourth).

For worldwide searches, Malaysia is ranked eight, behind the Philippines which takes top spot with Myanmar, Mongolia and Lebanon in close pursuit.

The poster also shared the source of his data – @grok a.k.a. the AI (artificial intelligence) chatbot developed by xAI, the company founded by Elon Musk.

In a separate article by The Coverage, it was also highlighted that porn afficionados in those East Coast states averaged almost 12 minutes daily to get their fix.

More pertinently, these fans of adult entertainment took the time to search for the specific type of clips that matched their preferences.

Whatever the ranking, it does make for embarrassing reading given that certain parties would like to have you believe that the moral decay was due to liberal values infiltrating the minds, hearts and smartphones of Malaysians.

A few commenters obviously brought up the recent dress code controversy surrounding girl band Dolla’s recent music video which some walaun (slang for hardcode PAS supporters) found to be too risqué.

Surely, the content of that music video (for the single Question) pales in comparison to the offerings on porn hub.

One commenter though disputed the veracity of the data, contending that it can be easily manipulated. There were some raised eyebrows that Indonesia was not on the list.

It was even argued that the poster was using outdated data from 2014 to make PAS look bad.

However, one commenter with tongue-firmly-in-cheek saw this as proof of East Coast folk as being extremely tech savvy despite their under-development.

Fact of the matter is that regardless of the source of data, pornographic material is freely and readily available to all and sundry.

Whether the consumers reside in PAS-led states is beside the point. Porn has the potential to damage mental health and cause great harm to young minds.

Worrying about a girl group’s outfits being too sexy or otherwise just makes no sense when such harmful material can be downloaded at a click.

Meaningful discussions on how best to control the porn menace is much needed instead of the hounding of young ladies executing some nifty dance moves.

For now, Malaysians will just have to grin and bear such news. – Nov 20, 2025
