Works Ministry fixes road markings on highway following horrific crash

WORKS Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has announced that the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) concessionaire has begun its process of re-blackening roads last night and will be completed by 3am on Friday.

In a Facebook post, he said the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), DASH and PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) will also reassess the situation at PLUS New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) sites especially with regards to the yellow and white lane markings to ensure road safety for users.

“DASH has already identified areas that need to be improved through the blackening process even before the Chinese New Year celebrations,” he said.

“I have emphasised that this matter requires serious attention as it involves the safety and lives of road users. At the same time, I urge all road users to always be careful while driving,” he said.

Nanta also attached a video of an accident involving two cars that allegedly occurred near the NKVE Kota Damansara exit on Jan 24.

The Toyota Veloz and Toyota Innova had collided supposedly due to confusion caused by overlapping yellow and white lane markings.

The Works Ministry also shared photos of workers painting over overlapping lane markings last night to make lane markings more consistent. – Jan 26, 2023
