X-Files? Car mysteriously drives off while driver pays the toll

DRIVING on the road, we can expect all sorts of things to happen, even if we are careful. Drunk drivers, irresponsible land pilots and short-lived Mat Rempits, you name it.

But what’s the worst that could happen at the PLUS toll gate? It’s not like you can drive quickly and reach a speed where stopping suddenly will result in death.

All the cars are jammed up in a nice, tight beeline. But somehow, human negligence has a way of making the most hospitable environment inhospitable.

Take it from a forgetful driver who got out of his car to pay the toll in this video post on X. Sadly, his car had a mind of its own, and decided to drive away while he was halfway out of it.

At a glance, it appears that the car mysteriously moved on its own. Netizen @HjRajit, however, observed that the man had his left leg on the gas pedal while his right was on the ground outside the car.

“When people say they are stupid, they get angry,” said @ammsyaf while another suggested that such people should not have a driving license.
But when we think about it, the situation actually isn’t very complicated. It appears the man may have stepped on the foot brake to stop the car when he arrived at the toll.
But he did not engage the hand brake when he stepped out of the car, so it simply drove away since the gear was left on Drive. Either that or someone hidden in the car decided that it was time to have a joy ride, at the expense of the driver.
Those who watched the brief video to the end will note the ominous, unmistakable sound of the vehicle hitting something as it swerved to the right. This is not a good day for him, and we can only pray that this is the swan song for his misfortune. —Nov 18, 2025
