X users are stating that the government is now backtracking on its previous provisions. Some users are saying that the rights of non-smokers outweigh the rights of smokers themselves.

Some may take is happily and some will take it sadly depends on how you take it. Just to let you know, all F&B outlets in Jakarta airport have section designated for smokers.

Netizens who are neutral towards the situation state that there will be people who are both happy and unhappy about this. Other countries are allowing people to smoke publicly, but in strict, dedicated smoking areas only.
Furthermore, even Singapore has this rule implemented by giving smokers a place to smoke without bothering others.

Others stated that it isn’t wrong for someone to have a cigarette. Another topic of discussion is that the amount of sugar and calories in the food we eat is also unhealthy. Regardless, it all boils down to the choices people make. The public ban on smoking was seemingly not well thought out, as there were no alternatives in place for smokers. – Feb 18, 2024
