YAYASAN Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera scholars continue to excel by scoring 33% and 42% passing rates for level 1 and 2 respectively in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examinations held in May 2021.
This is despite the lowest ever CFA passing rate recorded globally which was 25% for Level 1, an all-time low since the very first examination in 1963, and 40% for Level 2 which is the lowest in a decade.
Four of its Peneraju Profesional CFA scholars were placed in the Top 10% of the global candidates namely Muhammad Amin Rali, 27, Amira Syahira Ahmad Shamsul Baharin 26, Muhammad Hanif Akmal Abdul Rahman, 27 and Muhammad Haneef Zuleffendi, 30 although being affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic which also affected the CFA examinations and results worldwide.
Yayasan Peneraju’s Chief Executive Officer Mohd Muzzammil Ismail said that while some managed to pass, most were really affected as reflected in the overall passing rate for both Level 1 and 2.
“Yayasan Peneraju is very proud with the perseverance of our scholars who had insisted on taking the examination as per the schedule although they were given the permission by CFA Institute to defer their examinations from May 2021 to November 2021.
“We are very happy the decisions made by them as they were ranked in the Top 10% at Level 2. On top of that, both levels recorded higher passing rates than the global results,” he added.
Yayasan Peneraju is currently the leading funding agency that aspires to produce more Bumiputera CFAs in Malaysia and has enrolled close to 500 aspiring charter holders to-date since the programme’s inception in 2013.
Meanwhile, other Yayasan Peneraju scholars under Peneraju Profesional new sponsorship scheme had also done well in their examinations held throughout the second quarter.
