YB Ventures to bear COVID-19 vaccination cost for all employees

LEADING tiles manufacturer and information technology (IT) company YB Ventures Bhd (formerly Yi-Lai Bhd) has pledged to absorb 100% of the cost of COVID-19 vaccinations for its 600 employees, including the company’s operational workers (local and foreign) in its manufacturing plant in Kulai, Johor.

YB Ventures is facilitating the mass inoculation exercise through the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and under the Public-Private Partnership COVID-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (PIKAS).

“At YB Ventures, we strongly support the scientific and public health advice that encourages vaccination. As we continue to navigate the pandemic, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our employees and other stakeholders,” commented YB Ventures executive director Au Yee Boon.

“Through this initiative, we hope to protect our workforce, their families and also create a safe and uncompromised environment for our customers when they visit us.”

He added: “YB Ventures will bear the entire cost of the immunisation drive of its employees. We believe this is part of our responsibility and basic effort of the group to participate in the larger cause of the vaccination drive in Malaysia.”

YB Ventures’ initiative is exemplary as it includes the migrant workers who are always under-appreciated and overlooked during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Migrant workers have been a very integral part of the Malaysian economy, especially to an industry like ours that is heavily dependent on them,” Au pointed out.

“We are doing our part to protect them from the effects of this pandemic. Given the target to achieve herd immunity by this year-end, YB Ventures is setting the stage for a more robust and quicker economic recovery.”

PIKAS is a public-private partnership immunisation programme aimed at employees, of which MITI has been tasked with coordinating immunisation of employees in the manufacturing industry.

The immunisation programme will be done via on-site vaccinations at designated factories and industrial locations. – July 5, 2021
