“You nailed it, Najib!”: Netizens say as Muhyiddin was reminded of his betrayal to Pakatan

THE war of words between former prime ministers Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is creating waves on social media, leaving netizens in stitches over the duo’s hypocrisy.

Nevertheless, one criticism levelled against Muhyiddin seemed to have struck a chord with social media users; his betrayal towards his then-coalition partners, Pakatan Harapan.

“He is right on this,” said user Karen Lim.

Echoing Lim’s sentiments; suer Stacy Wong added:

Netizen Zarina Ghani retorted:

Three days ago, Muhyiddin said it was a blessing in disguise for his party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) after UMNO announced it would cease cooperating with him.

“There is a blessing when Bersatu does not work with UMNO as Bersatu won’t become entangled in the moral problems plaguing UMNO leaders.

“Personally, I’d be ashamed to be associated with a party that embraces someone who has been convicted by the courts of a serious crime as a boss,” Malaysiakini reported him as saying.

However, Najib was unimpressed with the Pagoh MP’s remarks and reminded the latter that he could not have become premier without UMNO’s support.

“That’s strange. When we supported him to become prime minister, Muhyiddin didn’t feel embarrassed and had no problems being associated with us.

“The fact is, without our support, there was no way he could have become the prime minister for 17 months. Now that we don’t support him, suddenly Muhyiddin is feeling embarrassed and calling us immoral,” he said, in a Facebook post.

Wanted! A genuine leader for M’sia

Upping the ante, the Pekan MP called Muhyiddin as a power-crazy man who would betray his coalition partners and Bersatu founder (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) to become prime minister via the Sheraton Move.

“And he would indulge in ‘scheme of things’ to bribe UMNO MPs and accept political frogs who would keep him in power.”

On that note, user Mathew Mathen lamented that Malaysia now seems to have no visionary leader to take the country forward, with many of them indulging in greed and corruption.

Netizen Patricia Dean called out both leaders for their failures, retorting: It is no less worse than betraying your own country by stealing, murdering, debauchery, excessiveness and philandering.

“Not to forget nepotism and cronyism. A case of the pot calling the kettle black. This is what happens when thieves fall out.” – Feb 6, 2022.
