FOLLOWING ex-banker Roger Ng’s graft conviction over the 1Malaysia Development Board (1MDB) scandal, former Prime Minister (PM) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin took to social media to speak of how justice has been served to Malaysians.
Muhyiddin mentioned on how he went up against those involved in the 1MDB scandal from the beginning and would continue to fight the kleptocrats from taking over the country again.
“I believe the Malaysian judiciary will also dispense justice to the people in regards to the 1MDB scandal. It should be expedited as ex-banker Roger Ng’s trial in the US has exposed the involvement of many local officials and leaders.
“These people swindled billions of 1MDB funds which was supposed to be used to finance strategic investments and develop our economy,” the Pagoh MP was reported as saying.
However, netizens were not having any of his comments and hurled brickbats at Muhyiddin, reminding the latter it was he who brought back the kleptocrats back to power.
“Dia jugak yg ajak umno kerjasama. Hahaha,” said user Kamarul Zakri.

Echoing Kamarul’s sentiments, user Apiq Shin Hafiz Jamil added: “Serius lah abah ckp mcm ni. sapa yg bg nyawa kt kluster mahkamah sblom ni dgn langkah sheraton?”

Netizen Muhamad Idrus retorted: “Sembang kari …langkah sheraton minta hujung nyawa pada umno bn..”

Stop dreaming of PM-ship
Yesterday, Ng, a former banker with Goldman Sachs, was convicted by a US jury on corruption charges for his role in looting billions from 1MDB.
Dubbed the biggest financial scandal in history, prosecutors charged Ng for conspiring to violate an anti-corruption law and launder money.
They said he helped his former boss, Tim Leissner, embezzle money from the fund, launder the proceeds and bribe officials to win business for Goldman.
On that note, user Yusri Farulzi reminded Muhyiddin that the people need not necessarily vote for his party even if former PM Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak gets jail time for the 1MDB scandal.
“Ingat najib masuk penjara org akan undi PN n ko jdi PM ke? BN still ada tokmat,” said user Yusri Farulzi.
