AS eligible Malaysians gear up to pick the ruling coalition that that they deem best suited to rule the country over the next five years, Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has pleaded that they return such mandate to BN to “once again form a stable and strong government”.
While it was true that BN found itself in a disorderly situation with its Perikatan Nasional (PN) ally ever since UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was made the ninth Malaysian prime minister (PM) in August 2021 until the dissolution of Parliament on Oct 10, the UMNO president said BN had never ceased to sacrifice for the well-being of Malaysians.
“Between power and national welfare, BN chose to return the people’s rights on the keel of genuine democracy,” Zahid penned in a recent Facebook post. “This is despite our coalition partner (PN) rendering us with resistance after resistance because they faced the difficulty to master the language of democracy.”
In fact, the Bagan Datuk MP reminded Malaysians that it has been several years since the country was embroiled in instability that affected the prosperity of the country.
“The climax was when the chairman of the National Recovery Council (referring to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) had a political agenda and attacked the leadership of the PM (Ismail Sabri),” lamented Zahid.
“If such situation is allowed to continue, then Malaysia is at risk of facing major hardship in light of the much anticipated global economic recession as predicted to occur next year by many international financial bodies.”
“The rakyat will end up victims if the country continues to be governed by an unstable government just because there is an enemy in the blanket,” he added.
Therefore, Zahid called on Malaysians who will be casting their votes tomorrow (Nov 19) to think rationally while fulfilling their responsibilities.
“Do we want to see the instability that has been destroying our prosperity since GE14 (the 14th General Election) continues to engulf this country?” he asked, pointing out that voting for Pakatan Harapan (PH) means that one is “voting for failure” while voting for Perikatan Nasional (PN) is “simply splitting our (BN) votes”.
“Give absolute victory to BN because this is a coalition that has proven its capability to bring stability to Malaysia,” suggested Zahid.
“Various other political coalitions have already been given the chance to form the government of the day but it turned out they were powerless to prosper our country. Do give BN a chance to once again repair all the damages that have been happening since May 9, 2018.” – Nov 18, 2022
