FORMER de facto law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim has taken a swipe at Madani Muslim decision makers for gearing up “to stage yet another round of protest against the US” after today’s (March 28) Friday prayer.
For the record, Amamah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu a.k.a. Mat Sabu is expected to lead a protest march to the US Embassy from the Tabung Haji headquarters in Jalan Tun Razak at 2pm in conjunction with the International Quds Day to celebrate the liberation of Palestine.in their struggle against Israeli occupation.
“I am appalled at the cowardice of our Muslim leaders. They protested and showered abuse against minorities in the country over a multitude of issues – including the socks and temples – ostensibly to defend the integrity of Islam,” berated the opposition–slant UMNO member.
“But they gladly ordered 30 Boeing aircraft from America, the mother of the worst genocide this century. … Whoever thought of the idea is a super hypocrite.
‘Didn’t they know that Israel which the ICJ (International Court of Justice) had found guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity would not be able to kill so many women and children if not for the bombs and money supplied by America? Boeing made the aircraft carrying these bombs.”
Our Muslim leaders like to stage protests against America. Today is another day of protest.

The former defence counsel of now incarcerated former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak further accused the so-called Muslim Madani leaders of having played a part in the sale of airports operator Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to “Blackrock who supplied money to Israel”.
“What kind of Muslim leaders are they? Are they the Munafiqun (hypocrites or false Muslims) described in the Quran?” fumed Zaid.
“The world has all done something to show its disgust toward America but we are doing the opposite. We are supportive of America.
“Do we not have any shame to be supportive of the senseless killings done to the Palestinians and now the Yemenis? We don’t have to trade with or buy things from America. We can survive. Other countries poorer than us have survived their sanctions. It’s only temporary.”
At the end of the day, Zaid who once owned Malaysa’s largest law firm, Zaid Ibrahim & Co, urged Madani Muslim leaders against behaving like “Erdogan and the Kings of the Middle East’.
