FORMER UMNO strongman Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is given accolades from a netizen who said the politician is finally speaking the truth about Perikatan Nasional (PN)’s defeat in the Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) by-election.
“Finally, you spoke the truth. PN completely has zero substance in her roles as a political organisation. 2. Only capitalise human & religious issues to induce people to back them. 3. Sadly, the Malaysians can easily be bought over by the politico rhetoric,” said a user under the handle @AAA or Abdul Aziz.

He commented on Zaid’s post on last night’s (May 11) speech by the Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate.
Zaid wrote that there are lessons for PN as expected in the PH government victory in the KKB contest.
He added that PN lost severely, although the margin of victory surprised many people.
He chided former premier Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, saying he was talking about the past and had nothing to offer the voters.

“Looking back, PH won big because PN had nothing to offer; absolutely nothing. The leaders are very old, not just in age but in ideas. Muhyiddin constantly talked about his considerable achievements as a national leader, but that’s in the past.
“What does he have to offer for the future? Nothing. It’s time he steps down Bersatu has not been focusing enough to show it is a party of the future. They offer nothing new except bringing a patchwork of political alliances in the form of lifeless Gerakan and the new Indian party,” he wrote.
On PAS leader Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, he claimed the latter only talks of the fear of DAP and what happened to the Malays in Singapore. Like Muhyiddin, he advised Hadi to also step down.
“The scare tactics no longer work. It’s time he steps down The Malays in Malaya are now looking for leaders who can help them find a place in the sun, not reminisce. In the absence of that, the Malays always resort to voting for the govt of the day. At least they may get a salary increase and a Raya bonus.”
According to him, it’s time the ulama‘ step aside, adding that it’s time to give the younger set of leaders in the opposition a chance to revitalise the party so they can offer the people something new.
“Islamic economic model is more suited to help the poorer segment of our country,” he further added without elaborating on why he said that.
However, he insisted that PAS under its religious leaders has failed to capitalise on Islam as a social and economic catalyst.
“PAS has not been able to offer an economic master plan that can win votes. They should stop behaving like a cult movement with stale messages and instead become a dynamic political party that understands the needs of the voters.
“PAS and Bersatu must now start changing their leaders. Have an extraordinary Congress. Bring up a new set of real political leaders who can give Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim a fight. Otherwise, Anwar will be a Supreme leader for a long time; by default.” – May 12, 2024
