Zaidatul breaks 31-year-old national women’s 100m record

MALAYSIA sprint queen Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli broke the 31-year-old national women’s 100m record at the Perlis Open, clocking 11.49 seconds.

This surpasses the previous record of 11.50 seconds set by G Shanti in 1993.

Zaidatul, known as “Adik,” took gold, while Nur Afrina Batrisyia Rizal earned silver with 11.91 seconds, and Azreen Nabila Alias claimed bronze with 12 seconds.

Zaidatul’s achievement signals positive prospects for Malaysia’s athletics ahead of next year’s SEA Games.

Her coach Mohd Poad Md Kassim expressed gratitude, celebrating the success amid rumours that his contract may not be renewed. – Oct 12, 2024
