Post praising MGB Fruits founder for business acumen elicits plenty of positive feedback

GIVEN how some political factions are hell bent in portraying non-Malays, in particular, the Chinese community as non-patriotic parasites who are related to communists and / or founders of island republics, it is refreshing to see others painting a far more positive picture.

Following a recent post on Facebook highlighting the successful business strategies of Bungkus Kaw Kaw, another similar post praises the founder of MGB Fruits – Adnan Lee Chong Fatt.

In a post shared on Rizhaza Shoppe’s Facebook page, Lee was praised for his humble demeanour despite being a hugely successful entrepreneur. More pertinently, the post examines the factors and strategies employed by Lee to make his MGB Fruits enterprise a ubiquitous presence in many shopping malls.

It examines how Lee learned from his mistakes and how staying focused has allowed him to conquer the fruit import business, making MGB Fruits the top player in this industry.

The post says there were a multitude of reasons for Lee’s success, not least the clever branding – MBG being an acronym for ‘Money Back Guarantee’.

The post has since generated 11k ‘likes’, 608 comments and 1.6k shares at time of writing. This is a sample of what netizens are saying.

Many hailed Lee’s achievements and urged more budding entrepreneurs to follow his lead.

Some comments pointed out that Lee’s business should be supported as it promoted a healthier lifestyle.

One netizen took the opportunity to state that Malay customers would happily support Chinese-owned businesses and that any boycott was based not on race, but on perceived slights of their religion.

A couple of netizens shared personal experiences of dealing with Lee whom they claimed had helped them survive the hardship of the recent pandemic.

A personal friend of Lee’s also vouched for his integrity and humble demeanour.

Lee’s humble character is confirmed by others who have had dealings with him.

One netizen said that shining examples such as Lee who should be role models instead of corrupt politicians.
